Rondeau Ric

 Warblers all over our yard at rondeau Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada, May 14, 2024. We had 16 species of warbler and I got images of the majority of them. Bay breasted. Black-throated green Blackburnian Cape May Common yellow throat. Magnolia  Nashville  Palm  Tennessee Wilson's Yellow-rumped Yellow Redstart

While not rare it is an infrequent visitor to the pond. Geothlypis trichas Adult Common Yellowthroats sometimes fall prey to carnivorous birds such as Merlins and Loggerhead Shrikes. Occasionally they have more unexpected predators: one migrating yellowthroat was eaten by a Chuck-will's-widow, while another was found in the stomach of a largemouth bass. source -  https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Common_Yellowthroat

Commom yellow throat and Wilson's warblers , a photo by ricmcarthur on Flickr. Last June I put in a small water feature in the yard. Basically a small pond with a tiny stream with two small ponds. A pump keeps the water moving. total cost, about $50. We have had 22 species of warbler come in to drink/bath in the past year. In all 64 species have been seen at this small water source, there may have been more and we just didn't see them. Why go chasing the birds when they will come to you. For my non birding friends the Wilson's is on the right.
