Great egret.


I was out on the pontoon with a few birders looking for the great kiskadee when we saw shorebirds and great egrets on the weed mats in the bay.

We didn't find the kiskadee.
Ardea alba
Great Egrets fly slowly but powerfully: with just two wingbeats per second their cruising speed is around 25 miles an hour.
