Dry skin Originally uploaded by ricmcarthur Do you ever get dry, itch skin that drives you crazy? Do like the snakes, shed your entire skin, including eye lids. Snakes out grow thier skins and they need to be shed. This skin is abour 5 feet long and belonged to a fox snake.

Fuzzy head Originally uploaded by ricmcarthur This young Ruby throated hummingbird seems to have a few fluffy feathers left. We had 9 hummingbirds at our three back yard feeders at one time. There is another feeder in the front yard so there are probably more.

Food fight Originally uploaded by ricmcarthur Darwin at work. MY food source, back off! We have been woodpecker central recently, lots of recently fledged woodpeckers coming in to feed. We have had at least 6 hummingbirds swarming a feeder as well. Hope you don't have to fight for your food on the weekend. To my American friends, have a happy Fourth.
