Statues: they aren't just for pigeons anymore.

We saw this great tit on a statue in the Netherlands this spring.
We were at a family wedding and took time to do some birding.

The great tit is about 6 inches long and its fileld marks included yellow underparts with a black central band, glossy black head with big white cheek patches, moss green back and a narrow white wink bar on blue-grey wings.

It is one of the more colourful birds that we saw in europe.

I never know what type those small birds are-- I see them around, with their odd way of flying, and I'm mystified.

My Cat is Stranger Than Your Cat

Okay this is weird; I’ll give you that right up front. We got Maggie from an animal shelter so we don’t know her background. We have found out that, if you don’t latch the bathroom door securely, Maggie will come crashing in to visit. She promptly climbs into your pants and makes herself comfortable. Now I don’t normally take a camera into the bathroom, however, this is regular thing with Maggie so, now you know the story. Sam, the black cat wants to know what Maggie is doing. Sam seemed quite upset over the blow to feline superiority.
