A different point of view
This was taken above Bluff, New Zealand, on the south coast of the south island.
They warn you that it is a steep grade but they don't bother with guard rails.
Evidently they feel you should be able to tell the difference between a road and empty air.
In North American there would be all sorts of barriers, wouldn't want to get sued.
