Wow! That HAD to be during a banding or something.
You can see every feather...and even his little rictal bristles!

Wow, it looks like a crossing of songbird and raptor! I'm not really into zoology, I can hardly tell a sparrow from a tit. So please excuse my unqualified comment :)
